What information does Showbiz Box Office collect and how is it collected?
In order for Showbiz to provide customers with a booking service offering priority seating tickets and packages for Australian and worldwide events, Showbiz needs to collect some personal information about you, including your name, address and telephone number.
Collection will occur at the time you make a purchase, or when you register as a Showbiz member, through our website or via our contact centre.
This information is collected in case there is a need to contact you should an event be rescheduled or cancelled or to enable us to notify any changes of event details or replacement of lost tickets.
We may also need some of this information in order to process your payment if you pay by credit card online.
This includes information about you that we collect and record which reasonably could be used to identify you.
Unless you tell us otherwise, personal information about you may be used from time to time for marketing and research purposes. Will Showbiz Box Office release my
information or offer its use to other parties?
Showbiz Box Office will not sell, rent or trade personal information about you
to or with third parties without your express permission.
Showbiz Box Office may need to disclose some personal
information about you in certain circumstances. For example, if your tickets
are to be collected at a venue, Showbiz Box Office provides some of your
personal information (e.g. your First Name, Last Name) to venues in order to
facilitate the collection of tickets, we require these organisations to agree
to comply with our Privacy Policy and with strict conditions governing how
personal information is to be handled. Showbiz will only disclose personal information if required to by law or permitted under the Privacy Act.

This section explains how we handle personal information collected from our website at www.ticket.showbiz.com.au
The Online Privacy Policy Statement is to be read in conjunction with the Privacy Policy and Online Terms of Use.
Showbiz will handle personal and non personal information collected online in a manner consistent with the collection of personal information offline.

We only use personal information collected online via our website for the purposes for which it was given to us as outlined in above in section 1 and 2 of the Showbiz Privacy Policy.

In order to transact your booking in a secure environment Showbiz requires you to register as an online customer of Showbiz Box Office where we will collect personal information about you, including your name, address, telephone number, payment details and email. You may update your details by logging onto www.ticket.showbiz.com.au. Unless you tell us otherwise, personal information about you may be used from time to time for marketing and research purposes by Showbiz. (iii) Collection
When individuals browse www.ticket.showbiz.com.au we do not collect their personal information.
When an individual looks at our website, our internet service provider makes a record of the individual’s visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes:
- the individuals server address
- the individuals top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au etc)
- the pages the individuals has accessed and documents downloaded
- the previous website visited and
- the type of browser being used
We do not identify users or their browsing activities.
(iv) Cookies
Our website uses a cookie session to store the order contents until you are ready to purchase, at which time the cookie is destroyed. Currently the booking process will not function unless you allow that cookie through your Options setting of your Internet browser.
The website statistics for the site are generated from server logs as outlined above.
When an individual closes their browser the session cookie set by our website is destroyed and no personal information is maintained which might identify and individual should they visit our website at a later date.

Showbiz takes steps to ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate, up to date and complete. These steps include maintaining and updating personal information when we are advised by individuals that their personal information has changed, and at other times as necessary (refer to access & correction guidelines).

Personal Information Security
Showbiz protects the personal information it collects in a secure proprietary format database, which can only be read using proprietary tools. Data collected online is stored in a Microsoft SQL database, a protected, secure data centre that is unreachable by the Internet.
Before you can transact online and send confidential personal information or account information to us on the Showbiz Web site, we require that a "secure session" is set up using Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
During this session your personal information and payment details will be collected on a secure page that uses SSL encryption. You will be able to independently verify this for yourself by looking for the following items:
a) You will see that during the checkout process and particularly when prompted for your credit card details, the internet addresses for those pages begin with "https://" instead of "http://". The "s" is short for SECURE and is the standard abbreviation used on all secure websites.
b) Your web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) will also display a padlock or golden key (   ) along the bottom of your browser window. This means the page is secure. You can also double-click on that padlock or key to get detailed information about our secure certificate.
Whenever employees handle your personal information, we limit access to customer information to those who need it to do their jobs and meet our customer servicing commitment to you. Showbiz employees are all required, as a condition of their employment, to treat personal information held by Showbiz as confidential, and to maintain the confidentiality of that personal information.

Showbiz Box Office holds about you. You also have the right to ask us to change
or correct information about you, which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of
date. If you purchase tickets from our website you are able to access or
correct the personal information that Showbiz Box Office holds about you by
logging onto our website at www.ticket.showbiz.com.au.
Full access and correction rights are now extended to
non-website customers of Showbiz Box Office. To provide you with access to
personal information about you, Showbiz Box Office would usually provide you
with a printout of the relevant personal information from our databases.

wish to access the personal information that we hold about you, please set out

Anonimity
Where it is lawful and practicable to do so, customers may transact with Showbiz without providing personal information. Customers wishing to purchase without providing personal information can do so via cash transaction at the Showbiz Office located at Level 3, 355 Bulwara Road, Ultimo, NSW, 2007. Please note, however, if we do not collect personal information about you at the point of sale, we will not be able to contact you in the case of an event cancellation or venue change, which may prove inconvenient to you at a later date.
